Jamila Sabares-Klemm

(she/her/hers)

is a Filipinx-American activist, actor, and singer based in New York City. She has been fortunate enough to travel around the country doing what she loves and is now starring as Dory/Evelyn in the Broadway Revival of Merrily We Roll Along. Other Credits include: Eliza Hamilton in Hamilton, Hair (1st National Tour), The Prince of Egypt (TheatreWorks Silicon Valley), Rent (Bristol Riverside), Miss Saigon (Flat Rock Playhouse), The King and I(Chicago Lyric Opera), Spamalot (Farmers Alley), In The Heights (TUTS), A Christmas Carol (McCarter Theatre), Macbeth (New York Classical), Sweeney Todd (Hangar Theatre).

Jamila is also an active member of different grassroots movements.  She works to be an ally and supporter alongside those who’ve been silenced by systemic oppressions here on this land and around the world. She believes that another world is not only possible, but necessary and understands that all our struggles are interconnected.

She is the Co-Founder of Justice through Arts Music and Movement (J.A.M.M.) a collective led by women of color that works to cultivate different spaces that explores what it means to use art, music, and movement as a vessel to challenge injustice and dismantle oppressive systems.
